In February 2001, AILab Co. spun off from Samsung Electronics to become the new leader in the medical equipment business. The company has been a central player in the Permanent MRI field, leading the development and innovation in medical technology. Working under the slogan, "Harmony, Creation, and Challenge," the company has been widely known for its exceptional reliability as a business partner.
As the Permanent MRI system does not use an external power source or liquid helium, its operation is highly economical. It can also magnetize vertically, which is an advantage for the design of receiving coils. AILab developed the first main magnet for MRI in Korea. Moreover, the company developed the full MRI system, including its software, as well as hardware, such as spectrometers, coils, and electronics. As such, the company has registered three international patents and filed 24 domestic patents for its products. In particular, the MagFinder II 0.32Tesla Open MRI system, its major product, is a very convenient and economic Open Permanent MRI system that employs the main magnet developed independently by AILab.
Although a late-comer in the industry, the company and its innovative products are made through excellent technology and are at par with the technological competitiveness required in the rapidly changing MR market.
